Licensed Massage Therapist: Physical Therapy-Outpatient, Part-Time, Variable Hours, Albuquerque, NM

We are looking for a Part-Time Massage Therapist position to join our Physical Therapy Outpatient team in Albuquerque, NM.

The job duties will include performing post-partum “mommy massages” in the hospital as well as outpatient clinical hours for medical massage. (Weekend coverage will be required).
 
This part-time job is located at Lovelace Westside Hospital- we provide care to Albuquerque’s Westside and Rio Rancho, including the area’s only inpatient pediatric unit, a kid-friendly emergency room and senior care emergency room services. Named a Pinwheel Champion by the Institute for Patient and Family-Centered Care. 

Massage Therapist Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for providing massage therapy services to clients of various ages and conditions. Documents and modifies massage therapy techniques as needed to achieve goals including client/family education and recommendations for post discharge needs. 
  • Educates the client and/or caregiver about the findings of the massage evaluation, the established goals of the massage therapy program, the plan of treatment, injury prevention and other related information while recognizing clients learning preferences and barriers.
  •   Expected to adhere to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and client safety.
     

 

Massage Therapist Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED equivalent: Graduate of a licensed massage program
  • Desired: One (1) years of previous job-related experience to include chair and clinic massage.
  • Licensed in massage therapy within the State of New Mexico
  • Current BLS
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal calmly, courteously and efficiently with people. 
  • Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner. 
  •   Ability to write brief, understandable and accurate patient documentation and maintain strict   confidentiality
